Financial Analyst

The Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Finance Analyst to work in our facility based at Severn Beach. The purpose of this role is to support the finance team in providing robust financial support to the Sales & Operations functions in order to analyse and improve profitability. Aid the finance management in providing accurate, efficient, and timely reporting and analysis.

Main responsibilities:

• Weekly and monthly commercial and operational reporting, including sales reports, yield reports and labour recovery reports.
• Engaging in the NPD process by preparing costings for new products and changes to current products
• Ensure ERP system is set up correctly for all new items, BOMs and Routings
• Work with the team to consolidate and analyse the Budget and Forecasts
• Preparing forecasts to aid in managing day-to-day cashflows, such as forecasting currency payments
• Variance analysis
• Prepare Standard Costs for new products and annual revaluation
• Assisting with preparation and analysis of month-end accounts, primarily working on reconciliation of revenue and cost of sales
• Calculation of outbound distribution costs and related accruals, and reporting of distribution KPIs to supply chain team
• Ad-hoc financial analysis as required
• Ad-hoc involvement in IT/ERP projects as required
• Able to provide cover for wider accounts payable/receivable in times of absence

Person specification/Qualifications/Capabilities:

• Either: Undergraduate degree (preferred, but not required, subjects include accounting, finance, economics, maths); or accounting qualifications (such as AAT)
• IT proficient and skilled with excel, utilising their skills to come up with new solutions to challenges/tasks
• Analytical and inquisitive, and can think outside of the box
• Team player, enjoys working and socialising with team and other departments, and happy to provide cover in times of absence
• Motivated and committed to learning and their professional development
• Professional with their communication and timeliness

Hours and location of work:

The hours for this role are 37.5 hours per week Monday – Friday with a salary of up to £28,000. This role is applicable to work at home for up to 2 days per week after the probation period.

Study support is offered to progress towards either ACCA or CIMA which can be discussed during the interview.
